The Oslo Fjord is surrounded by charming gems worth visiting. From our experience, it's much easier to create something truly special for a group event when you escape the city's hustle and bustle. Both sides of the fjord offer intimate locations where your group can discuss strategies, solutions, and plans in peaceful, inspiring, and relaxing settings.
In the summer, we recommend boat transport from Oslo. On a good weather day, the fjord buzzes with life as boats pass by islands, skerries, and picturesque small harbors. It’s hard to imagine a better start to your event!
Drøbak – The Seaside Town
Drøbak is high on our list of favorite gems. This peaceful town on the fjord’s eastern shore is famous for its beaches and recreation areas, right in the heart of town. With its bustling maritime life, preserved wooden houses, intimate cafés, restaurants, galleries, and small shops, it’s no surprise Drøbak is known as "the Seaside Town." Just outside the center, there’s also a beautiful 18-hole golf course. In short, this gem by the Oslo Fjord is a must-see!
Gather on Historic Grounds
Just a five-minute boat ride from Drøbak you can experience Oscarsborg Fortress. Completed in 1853 and named after King Oscar following his visit in 1855, it has played a crucial role in protecting the sea route to Oslo. The fortress gained historical significance on April 9, 1940, with the sinking of the German cruiser Blücher. Today, the fortress offers hotel accommodations, with 89 rooms, conference facilities, and restaurants. It’s a fantastic location for corporate events, where we can organize meaningful teambuilding activities and entertainment in these historic and serene surroundings.
Holmsbu Seaside Hotel
With roots dating back to the 1880s, the Holmsbu Seaside Hotel is beautifully situated in the idyllic village of Holmsbu, Hurum. The hotel features charming rooms, conference facilities, a bar, and a restaurant. The interior is reminiscent of the 1930s, when Holmsbu hosted a famous artist colony led by painter Henrik Sørensen.
